APNIC

APNIC is the Regional Internet Registry for the Asia Pacific, managing and distributing Internet number resources like IP addresses (IPv4 and IPv6) and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs). We support the growth of the Internet in a sustainable way, ensuring it remains open, stable, and secure. APNIC works with network operators, governments, and other organisations to achieve this goal.

In cybercrime investigations, APNIC's Whois database is valuable for identifying IP address ownership, aiding in threat analysis and incident response. We collaborate with law enforcement through training and information sharing, and support the development of Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in the region to enhance cybersecurity capabilities.
