Solomon Islands - Regional Delivery

Solomon Islands - Regional Delivery

From 18 to 23 April 2026, 31 members of police and law enforcement agencies participated in the CSP Cybercrime Awareness, Prevention and Education (CAPE) and Cybercrime Investigation Foundation (CIF) programs in Honiara, Solomon Islands. Pacific Officers from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, Fiji Police Force, Nauru Police Force, and Vanuatu Police Force also attended.

The collaborative effort aimed to enhance regional cooperation and bolster the capabilities of law enforcement in combatting cybercrime across the Pacific. The training sessions included comprehensive modules on navigating the digital world safely, cyber threat identification, and the latest strategies in cybercrime prevention.

Participants in the CIF took part in interactive exercises, simulations, and discussions guided by experienced professionals from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), New Zealand Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The CAPE delivery was spearheaded by two outstanding CAPE graduate officers from the Cook Islands Police Service (CIPS), receiving remarkable positive feedback and making a significant impact.

The joint regional training delivery underscored the importance of collective action and knowledge sharing in addressing the evolving landscape of cyber threats. Officers left their respective programs equipped with enhanced skills and a network of colleagues committed to safeguarding their communities from digital dangers. As the programs concluded, there was a shared sense of determination and optimism about the future of cybercrime prevention in the region.
